In recent months, forMK has been able to support several organisations, thanks to funding from Milton Keynes Christian Centre.
St Marks Meals
A £500 donation from forMK, which was doubled to £1,000 by the Community Foundation’s match funding scheme, supported St Mark’s Meals in their efforts to help local children living in poverty.
St Mark’s Meals provides meal packs to enable struggling families to prepare hot nourishing meals just when they need them and work to make sure no child goes to bed hungry.
5 On It MK
£2,000 was donated to the ‘5 On It Foundation’ team which ran a youth sports and media camp at St Pauls School in August 2023. This additional funding allowed young people who did not meet the Free school meals criteria to attend the camp.
They welcomed a diverse range of participants, 57% of attendees were from Black, Asian, and Mixed groups and 27% were Caucasian.
Some of the activities included Basketball, Football, Netball, Dodgeball along with Social Media and DJ workshops.
