Wriggle Dance Theatre specialise in producing high quality dance performances for young children and their families

At the heart of Wriggle’s vision is a passion for children and an understanding of their potential as dance critics, creators, and performers.

Wriggle creates unique interactive shows, which offer audiences structured interactive moments as well as opportunities for free play, combining dance, theatre, live music and comedy.

Alongside their performance work, they offer an extensive community outreach programme which is deeply rooted in their ethos of allowing all children and families to have the opportunity to participate in and experience dance from an early age.

FORMK were able to support Wriggle Dance Theatre through the ‘MKCC Fund’

Recently we gave Wriggle Dance Theatre £1,500 to support the rehearsal & delivery of 8 interactive dance theatre performances of their production ‘Rainbow Fish goes Adrift’ in local libraries & non-theatre spaces for ages 2 yrs+ highlighting the issue of recycling & plastic waste.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the delivery of the performances changed. The group adapted and edited together a version of the show from a previous performance and added interactive slides asking the children to try the movements at home. This video was sent out via a YouTube link by the group’s contacts at MK Libraries and Children’s Centres so that families could enjoy the performance while at home.
