MK Food Bank have come up with an innovative idea. To help people over the holidays they opened up their first Top-up shop.
The idea behind the Top-up shop is simple. Provide a way for people to top-up their cupboards at a low cost to them. That way MK Food Bank could ensure fewer people go hungry in the holidays.
Even though it was advertised for only a short time the first Top-up shop was a great success seeing people from all parts of Milton Keynes come along. Many of them had used the Food Bank before. And the feedback was that this was a great thing to do and is something that they would recommend to family and friends.
MK Food Bank are planning to run more Top-up shops in the future.
